Congenital tuberculosis in an infant of a mother with relapsed multi-drug resistant tuberculosis: A Case report

چکیده

Although congenital tuberculosis (TB) is rare, it associated with a high mortality rate. The infection mainly acquired transplacentally and less frequently from infective lesions on the maternal genital tract. Many cases are missed in clinical practice due to non-specific presentation of disease hence tendency either miss diagnosis or make late. We report an infant 32-year-old mother who was treated for multi-drug resistant TB before index pregnancy probably had relapse during pregnancy. presented features sepsis at age ten days, but only suspected when there no response routine antibiotic therapy, medical history reviewed. This create awareness about manifestations highlight some helpful diagnostic methods resourcepoor setting.
